Before Swansea Town FC Ltd took out a lease on the Vetch Field from the Gas Works company that owned it the company’s football team played there. Here’s the report of their last match from the Cambrian Daily Leader, 26 April 1912. In the picture below you can see the orgonal football pitch (click to enlarge).
