13th/14th June 2012: Open days at Gorseinon Library and Gorseinon Centre

We were very lucky to have two venues offered for our open day in Gorseinon, so we went twice! We met some very keen Swans’ fans, with some rare and interesting stories. There was Chris, who was mascot at a Swans’ game for his 18th birthday treat; Shirley, who grew up in the Sandfields and brought in her childhood Swans’ diary/scrapbook; Mair, who’s late husband Dutchman Nico Schroder played one match in goal for Swansea in his bid for a professional career in the Football League; amongst others.

We scanned, we recorded, we talked and had to bring lots of stuff back to base to complete our capture of some top-quality material. Thank you Gorseinon! And thanks to staff at the Library and Centre.
