Swansea City Supporters’ Trust
The trust was formed in 2001 and has the following aims:
- To maintain a professional Football League club in Swansea
- To bring the football club closer to its local community
- To have an elected supporters representative on the Board of Swansea City Football Club
- To raise sufficient funds to buy a stake in the club, in pursuance of the aims above
It played a key role in saving the club during the dark days of the Tony Petty ownership. It now owns 20% of the club and has a representative on the club’s board.
You can read about the history of the Trust at its website.
Here’s the Trust second newsletter, which summarizes the early achievements and discusses the idea of a new stadium.
